Results Station Q&A

Legal Disclaimer: Statements regarding this device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition

What’s the purpose of the Results Station?

Provide individuals with proof of having cleared any associated screening process, and, if using flow control,  could include options like providing them with their number in the queue, unlocking a door, or even associating their results with some other form of access ontrol . For others in the business venue, it’s to create peace of mind that people around
them have been screened and passed.

How does this work?

Based on the rules assigned to the station, when the last screening step is completed,
the printer spits out an appropriate sticker.
It’s really set up to be integrated with either the Q&A Screener and / or Thermal Mirror
and, when the final screening step of choice is completed and passed, print out a sticker for the person to pull off and put on. The appropriate label template is used based on the results

What’s different about using it for visitors versus employees?

That’s up to you, as we’ve made sure it’s flexible for your use cases and workflows.
However, some businesses are keen to tie the results of the employee screening for
building entry access. To do this, we do need access to the building security system.
Based on Verbal and Thermal Screening results and established HR workflow, the badge
access to facilities is changed appropriately. Basically, if a fail, they can’t get in; a pass
creates instant access. Results are kept and associated with known individual’s
(employee) record per the organization’s HR and data policy (very flexible workflow to
support any requirements).

Why is this solution uniquely valuable for Retail?

We are quite steeped in the industry, and consumer sentiment has been vocal about the need to trust that the store, products, employees and people in the aisles are not putting shoppers at risk. The processes and techniques to stymie this have been frenetic at best, and we see huge consumer behavior benefits for putting their minds at ease with an indicator on every person that identities them as having been screened. Does it solve all latent fears? No. However, it has a huge impact on the perception of safety, which then frees up all involved to either enjoy the shopping  xperience (versus rush through it out of fear) or rest easier while at work what risk has been mitigated.

Can I customize the sticker template/art?

Yes. The label templates are completely flexible and can include:
● Verbal Screening PASS / FAIL
● Thermal Screening PASS / FAIL
● Individual’s Name
● Time and Date
● Individual Status (Employee, Registered Visitor, Visitor)
● If using Occupancy monitoring for public venues, include a “ticket number”

Is it always a separate printer device or can it be integrated into other technology solutions?

The most common implementation of the Results Station is the use of a printer and
printing at minimum the time and date of passing the screening process. The same
“PASS” result,  leveraging InReality’s platform, can be used to change content on a digital sign, impact smart lighting - on/off, color, etc.- and even, when integrated with access control equipment, unlocking doors or change key card status

Can you explain how to use it for queue management?

By including a Queue number on the label, think of it as your “Now Serving #44”, you
have the ability to mitigate confusion by adding digital signage to your entrance flow
control solution. The digital sign would signal the appropriate party that it is their turn to
enter by displaying their Queue number. When combined with InReality’s Occupancy
Monitoring solution, you have a perfect combination to both monitor traffic counts, and still provide those waiting with a sense of confidence they won’t miss their turn

Can you explain how to use it for gate access management?

When combining the Results Station with a Thermal Mirror, a result of PASS can be used to create a contact closure that is included as part of the Thermal Mirror’s wiring harness,
which is used to unlock a gate or door.

Are there any privacy concerns regarding asking people in my business to wear a sticker proclaiming their health status?

At this time, this is not a concern from a HIPPA perspective. What we are doing is not a medical  diagnostic, and the Results Station printer is simply a badge of proof that an
individual has complied with whatever screening process you require. However, as with ll of our solutions, we recommend that your process, workflows and data storage is tied
to a data and privacy policy, and you have clear communication to those being screened
on what you are doing, why and how the information is being used.

Thermal Mirror FAQ’s

Legal Disclaimer: Statements regarding this temperature device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition

What is thermal technology and how does it work?

It functions by a heat sensor that detects temperature by recognizing and capturing different levels of infrared light. This light is invisible to the naked eye but can be felt as heat. All objects emit infrared radiation; a thermal camera captures the infrared radiation from what’s in front of it, creates an electronic image about the temperature differences and then reports the results. It became popular for temperature detection in 2003 due to the SARS epidemic, but it was prohibitively expensive for mainstream use. That’s now changed.

Is it a medical device?

No, it is not a medical-grade product. It's a high-end, non-medical temperature inspection product for non-contact temperature screening in public areas. By positioning the Thermal Mirror as a temperature inspection device, not a medical diagnostic device, consumer confidence can be secured without going through the unwieldy process of garnering FDA approval. *To note, Amazon and other similar companies have started using it as a screening method at their facilities, an indicator that it will soon pass muster for the mainstream.

What makes integrating it as part of the In Reality platform, even smarter?

Indeed, thermal camera technology is not new—there are certainly other solutions similar to the Thermal Mirror from a hardware perspective. They can all take a quick temp and indicate pass/go results via light or a short selection of audio response. They cannot, however, perform the advanced feature/benefits we make possible by integrating it with the InReality software platform. With the Thermal Mirror, you get the simple standalone contactless solution plus

Can I easily document the temperature result for every recognized person/employee’s record?

The Employee Compliance Module provides access to all historic employee compliance and audit records, either as a PDF report or to be ingested into the client HR system (additional development cost may be required).

Should I have privacy concerns?

COVID-19 has opened the door to many new norms that have yet to be explored by privacy mandates or legal teams. Our solution requires that an image is taken to indicate the thermal results. It does not store those images, but in the case of employee tracking, it does associate it with a facial database. We recommend users establish a public-facing privacy policy and notify the visitor. For employees, they should work with both legal and HR teams to establish a disclosure document with transparency regarding image and data use and agreement to terms
